BINGO
Bingo is a major source of fund raising to help support Central Illinois FRIENDS of People with AIDS. Funds raised help meet the needs of clients with housing, medicines, transportation, and so much more. Community Bingo is held every Thursday evening with doors opening at 4:00 p.m., with regular bingo starting at 6:30 p.m. Since FRIENDS has only two paid staff members, they rely heavily upon volunteers to oversee and help operate bingo. It takes a minimum of 8 volunteers each Thursday to make bingo run efficiently.
Volunteers are needed to help put play game packets together prior to the doors opening. Other opportunities are; working at the counter filling customer orders for individual bingo games, working the floor selling pull tabs and helping verify bingo winners. Other volunteers are needed to work the pull tab counter, call bingo, and verify winners upstairs.
It is the vision of FRIENDS to draft enough volunteers so teams can be set up where individuals are only volunteering once a month or every other month. Volunteers are always needed. Please consider helping us! People volunteer because they care...contact FRIENDS at 309.671.2144.
